Classes are available to SMART Local 7 Zone 2 members who are in good standing.

This is a 4-hour (approximate time) welding test designed to qualify a welder to the American Welding Society’s code (AWS D9.1) for sheet metal. The test consists of two welded coupons, one-18 gauge galvanized, one-10 gauge galvanized. Both weld coupons are welded in the overhead position. After welding, the test coupons are visually inspected. The inspector will check for imperfection according to AWS D9.1 code for sheet metal.
